Genome of the Netherlands

Initiated by the Dutch biobank collaboration BBMRI-NL, the extensive Rainbow Project ‘Genome of the Netherlands’ (GoNL), offers detailed knowledge about genetic variation in the Dutch indigenous population. This is not only interesting in itself, but also helps to extract useful biomedical information from Dutch biobanks. The study on the DNA of 750 Dutch people – 250 trio’s consisting of father, mother, child – , plus a global genetic profile of large numbers of Dutch, discloses a wealth of new information, new insights and possible applications.

It is possible to request individual level sequence data and/or variant calls; the GoNL steering group will review your application, and after signing a data access agreement, the data will be made available using a suitable method, generally via sftp access.
